Lisa Hix is a veteran journalist who specializes in history, current trends, pop culture, music, the arts, feminism, and social-justice issues. She has worked for Yahoo!, Flavorpill, and The San Francisco Chronicle. Her writing has also appeared in Teen Vogue, Glamour, KQED Arts, Ms. Magazine, Gizmodo, Bitch Media, Jezebel, Bust, Elle Girl, and Mental Floss. Lisa was the longtime Senior Editor of Collectors Weekly.


Previously, she was a copy editor at The San Francisco Chronicle for seven years. She has 10 years of corporate proofreading experience as well.


Currently, she's an editor and reporter for, which is supported by the Bay City News Foundation, where she covers history and arts & entertainment in the San Francisco Bay Area. She's also a member of the Writers Grotto.
