  • Optimize headlines for SEO. Write captions and social media display text. Participate in daily meetings to tweak headlines to increase page views.

  • Edit in Google Docs, WordPress, Datawrapper, MailChimp, Shorthand and more.

  • Serve as a member of the editorial leadership team, the style committee, the crime coverage committee and the committee on employing AI and other new technology.

  • Managed four features sections total, including Bay City Books and Inspire Me, which focuses on uplifting human-interest pieces.

  • Recruited and managed a team of freelancers to write for these sections.
